Children’s Settlements

CHILD C was aged 15 years when she was awarded £175,000 in settlement of a clinical negligence claim. Her parents were particularly concerned about the claimant receiving a large sum of money at age 18. We received approval from the Court Funds Office to manage the funds externally and working closely with the parents, we helped to prepare the claimant, to assume responsibility for the funds.

An investment portfolio was created and the claimant now enjoys a close working relationship with us. With our help, she has adopted a sensible approach to the monies, which should provide security for the foreseeable future.
